Cllr Kathy Williams

I am both City and County Councillor for Longlevens in Gloucester and was first elected to the County Council in 2005 and then the City Council in 2007. I am the Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods at the City Council and I am Chair of the Community Safety Scrutiny committee at the County Council. I played a significant role in flood recovery in Longlevens after the devastating floods of 2007 and subsequently was given the responsibility on the City Council for Emergency Planning and flood alleviation works. I am both a qualified General and Psychiatric Nurse and worked for twelve years in Social Services in Adult and Community Care. I have lived in Gloucester since 1982 moving here from Cheltenham and have lived in Longlevens since 1986. I am married and have a grown up daughter and also a grandson and my family all live in Gloucester. I retired from work ten years ago and run a small antiques and collectables business and also assist my husband running his business in property maintenance. I have particular interest in wildlife conservation I also support Teckels dog rescue centre.
