Extension for help going global

Wednesday, 13 July, 2011

Help is at hand for local business looking to unlock potential from export markets with a range of new events from Gloucester City Council’s Economic Development Team.

Before the team plan their programme of events they are asking businesses interested in this market to let them know of any potential issues they have, or questions they need answering to ensure the events are suitable.

Council leader Paul James and cabinet member for regeneration said: “Research shows companies who export are more productive than those who don’t. Plus they achieve a stronger financial performance – which helps them stay in business.”

“We all know times are tight at present and local businesses can’t rely exclusively on local trade. Exporters open their doors to a vast number of potential customers making them less reliant on a single market.

“The Economic Development Team at the council wants the courses to really make a difference to local businesses which is why the deadline for views on the export market has been extended.”

The business export survey is available from www.gloucester.gov.uk/business until 29th July 2011.  For further information or to request a paper copy please contact the Economic Development team on 01452 396792/86.
