£1,300 raised for training course for the young
Training for out of work youngsters has given a boost by Gloucester MP Richard Graham's cherry n white charity cycle ride from Gloucester to Parliament. The City MP has raised £1,300 for the rugby charity Wooden Spoon Gloucestershire's funds for the Onside training course which prepares young people for jobs. The Onside courses are run by Prospect Training in conjunction with the Gloucester Rugby Club.
Richard said 'helping get young men and women ready to work is a good cause, worth every ache on this long ride with three companions. I hope that some Gloucester youngsters will benefit from the funds raised for a fantastic course'.
Wooden Spoon Glos Chairman Tim Heal, who accompanied Richard Graham for the first part of the journey, said 'I'm delighted that the trip was successful and many positive comments have been received about the Onside programme’
Gloucester Rugby Managing Director Ken Nottage said ' the Onside programme has been a great success and shows our commitment to the Community and giving youngsters a chance.’
