Cllr Barry Dare has announced the first change to the Conservative team following last week’s election, appointing Quedgeley councilor Jackie Hall as deputy Conservative Group Leader. She is expected to be appointed deputy Council Leader later this month when official council positions are conferred at a meeting of the full council. Further information about the make up of the new cabinet is expected to be released over the next week.
Cllr Barry Dare, Leader of the Conservative Group, commented:
“Jackie Hall has always been one of the most important parts of the Conservative team at Shire Hall. This appointment only confirms the vital role that she plays – representing both Quedgeley and Gloucester at the very top level of county council decision-making. I will be working with her over the next few days to put together the full team for the year ahead.”
Cllr Jackie Hall, commented:
“It’s a big job – but one I’m happy to take on, alongside my role as Cabinet Member for Children and Young People. Conservatives have some great ideas for Gloucestershire – which is one of the reasons so many people in this county voted for us. Now we need to get on with the hard work of delivering on those promises.”
