Conservatives launch county manifesto
Gloucestershire Conservatives have published full details of their manifesto for the county council elections next month. Key pledges include:
- Lower council tax rises than in the last four years
- A council tax freeze if there’s a Conservative Government
- Less councillors
- £60m of efficiency savings
- Support for police on the beat
- More old people looked after in their own homes
- Increase recycling to 70%
The full manifesto has been published on the County Conservative Group website www.gloucestershireconservatives.co.uk
Cllr Barry Dare, Leader, Gloucestershire County Council, commented:
“In the last four years the Conservatives have delivered the lowest council tax increases of any county council in England. We promise that, in the next four years, we’ll keep council tax even lowers. At the same time, we’ve got ideas to make Gloucestershire a greener, safer, nicer place to live. Our manifesto embodies David Cameron’s key message – Government doing more for less.”
